CHANGING BRANDS DELIVERS STRONG BRAND IDENTITY FOR NEWHAM & THE PORT OF TRURO

Penryn based branding company, Changing Brands, has delivered a strong brand for Newham & The Port of Truro.

Launched at the first Newham BID Business Networking event, recently, businesses across Newham & The Port of Truro responded well to the branding and are being encouraged to adopt the brand identity and use it as part of their own corporate branding.

Coupled with the strapline TruroÂÙs Business Quarter, the launch of the branding is the first element of many future projects for the area, such as Signage, website development and a marketing campaign.

Alison Elvey, Newham BID Manager, explained, “We are very excited about the strong brand image John Lowdon from Changing Brands has developed for Newham & The Port of Truro.  Coupled with the strapline, TruroÂÙs Business Quarter, this is just the start of a journey to raise the profile of an area many local people do not even know exists.  Future projects incorporating the brand will hopefully lead to an increase in customer visits to the area.”

Alan Treloar, Director of Vickery Holman and Chairman of the Newham BID Signage committee, commented, “We have been based at Newham for almost 25 years and I am certain that there has never been such a strong and focussed brand proposed for the area. There have been previous attempts to establish an identity for Newham but these have not gained much traction. I am delighted with the work John has done to provide a vibrant eye-catching brand for Newham & The Port of Truro.   We have many exciting projects for Newham & The Port of Truro in the pipeline, including signage, a website and a marketing campaign.  The new brand and strapline are the linchpin to all of this.”

John Lowdon, Changing Brands, “Creating a brand that worked in harmony with all of the businesses at the same time as representing the future potential for Newham & The Port of Truro were key objectives which we feel have been achieved with a brand identity that is adaptable and vibrant. Getting the businesses to embrace the new look is an important part of its development.”

A FACE LIFT FOR NEWHAM -  6th October 2014

Newham is undergoing a face lift as Newham BID teams up with Kernow Tree Surgery to tidy up the area.

One of Newham BIDs key themes is to enhance the Access and Attractiveness of Newham by ensuring the grassland and hedges are cut back regularly.  After a competitive tender process, Kernow Tree Surgery have been appointed to undertake this role for the next 12 months.

Alison Elvey, Newham BID Manager explained, “Newham is in need of a face lift.  There are areas of Newham that are very overgrown and look untidy and unkempt.

Now these areas, outside of individual businesses responsibility, are being looked after by the BID, the area already looks better.  In addition itÂÙs great that businesses are now taking extra pride in how their own areas look.”

Andrew Bastiani, owner, Kernow Tree Surgery, added, “We are delighted to secure this contract with Newham.  We have extensive experience of working on local industrial estates and for local businesses. We look forward to having a positive impact on Newham over the next 12 months.”
